Kevin Walker

Kevin Walker is president and CEO of the Northwest Area Foundation (NWAF). Since 2008, he has led the organization’s efforts to champion programs that reduce poverty and build opportunities for low-income families in rural, urban, and Native American reservation communities. NWAF’s region stretches from the Upper Midwest to the Pacific Northwest. It comprises the eight states of Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington and Oregon and 74 sovereign Tribal nations. Prior to joining the Foundation, Walker spent 13 years with the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, including nine as director of Mott’s national anti-poverty program. He currently serves as board chair of the Minnesota Council of Foundations and vice chair of Philanthropy Northwest. He lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with his wife and two sons.
