Nick Slade is the great-great-grandson of railroad magnate and entrepreneur James J. Hill, founder of the Great Northern Railroad. He is a consumer rights attorney with Barry, Slade & Wheaton, LLC. In his practice, he focuses on representing consumers who have been defrauded or taken advantage of. While in law school he spent two years as a student-certified attorney before becoming an assistant public defender for the Office of the Public Defender 2nd Judicial District in St. Paul, Minn.
Mr. Slade earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and his juris doctor from Hamline University School of Law. He served in the U.S. Army, on active duty from 1982 to 1985, and in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1994. He recently joined the Minnesota National Guard as an attorney in the Judge Advocate Generals Corps.
He is currently a member of the Minnesota Supreme Court Legal Services Advisory Committee and served on the board of Franconia Sculpture Park in Franconia, Minn. from 1997-2011.
Nick Slade lives in St. Louis Park Minnesota with his wife and two children.
