Matt is responsible for the strategic analysis and implementation of the Foundation’s financial plans, policies, and accounting practices; maintenance of fiscal records; and preparation of financial reports.
With over a decade of public and private accounting and finance experience, Matt is well versed in his field. He developed a specialty in foundation accounting during his eight years at CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA). While there, he had the privilege of serving many of the Twin Cities largest foundations in various capacities: auditor, tax professional, and contracted CFO/controller.
His most recent experience includes finance operations supervision, financial statement preparation and review, payroll and benefits administration, nonprofit tax compliance and consulting, accounting software and process optimization, and business evaluation.
Matt is a certified public accountant. He holds a bachelor’s in accounting and entrepreneurship from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. In his spare time, he enjoys reading up on global politics and economics, playing chess, and spending time with his wife and two children.
