“Until the lion learns how to write, every story will glorify the hunter.” — Chinua Achebe
Felix leads a team that provides high-value finance activities such as budgeting, accounting, benefits administration, and more. He also supports the CFO with managing our investment portfolio and Foundation-wide risk. He’s making sure our endowment dollars are doing what they’re meant to: fueling impact for our grantees and helping us live out our mission, vision, and values every step of the way.
He brings a global perspective and over a decade of experience in financial leadership to his position. He has lived and worked in multiple countries. A common thread throughout his career has been finding opportunities to use his financial expertise to drive positive impact in resource-constrained environments.
Most recently, he was head of finance for World Savvy Inc., where he provided data-driven financial insights and investment leadership focused on creating inclusive, future-ready K-12 schools. His earlier career centered around financial guidance for local, national, and global organizations dedicated to health-care equity. And he empowered rural communities through financial management solutions during his work with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) farmer-to-farmer initiative, for which he received a Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA).
Felix acknowledges that finance isn’t known to be exciting and can be overwhelming to some. He turns to storytelling with numbers to make complex financial information accessible and understandable to all—fostering collaboration for stronger programs and better results.
He earned a bachelor’s at Harvard University and an MBA at ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. He serves as treasurer for the boards of the nonprofits Alongside Network and RS Eden.
Finance isn’t the only focus in Felix’s life. He also enjoys spending time with family, running, and cooking Southeast Asian and West African dishes.
