“We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It’s easy to say, ‘It’s not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’ Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” — Fred Rogers

Patrick provides clerical and administrative support to the Foundation’s program staff. He draws on more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit, private, and governmental settings to help his colleagues do their work with less effort. He enjoys applying his eye for detail and background in graphic design and illustration to whip Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations into shape. He also assists in coordinating logistics for Foundation convenings and events.

When he’s not helping his heroes at the Foundation, Patrick loves to collect and build model trains. In addition, he’s been a historical re-enactor for over 40 years, representing American and British characters from the American Revolution to the Civil War. He met his spouse of nearly 40 years while working at Historic Fort Snelling in St. Paul, MN. They both currently serve as board members of La Compagnie des Hivernants de la Rivìere Saint Pierre, a Minnesota nonprofit historical society that re-creates events from the early 19th-century Great Lakes fur-trade era.

Patrick is passionate about the need to address climate change and build a more sustainable future for the world, particularly now that he is a grandfather.
