Dr. Duane Carter has worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis since 1990. He is currently a senior vice president and a member of the executive team. He has responsibility for the customer contact center, treasury services, cash services, facilities management, and corporate security. He also leads the Learning Management and Support Office for all 12 Federal Reserve Districts in the nation.
He began his career in retail banking. Since then, he has built a strong leadership foundation based on experience in operations, talent management, employee relations, and organizational development and learning. He is known for leading and implementing successful organizational change, creating high-performance teams, and building collaborative partnerships.
Carter has a doctorate of education in organization development from the University of St. Thomas, from which he also holds an MBA. His bachelor’s degree is in agriculture business from the University of Minnesota. He is currently a community faculty member in the College of Management at Metropolitan State University. He also serves on the board of directors for Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
